Title: “Identity of Homosexual Minority in Czech and Slovak Republics”

Abstract:
The article points out an insufficient legislative regulation of rights of homosexual minority, and a consequent discrimination of the particular minority in the Slovak republic as well as in the Czech Republic. While in the Czech Republic the first step was taken in an enactment by adoption of the Law on registered partnership, in the Slovak republic such enactment on rights of same-sex partnerships has not been adopted yet. It results especially from cultural –religious aspect and from homophobic behaviour. However, both the countries have been bound by the Amsterdam Treaty on amendment of legislation leading to equalization of same-sex couples´ position; this process is mainly at its starting line in the Slovak republic.
