An Italian marriage equality video shows the preparations for a gay couple’s wedding as a reminder that the country provides no legal recognitions for same-sex relationships.
The film was made by Secret Wood Team with the support of Arcigay, who campaign for equality between individuals regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Although homosexuality has been legal in Italy since the 19th century, there are no national protections afforded to gay couples.
The two characters are followed as they tell friends about their engagement, through preparations for the wedding and celebrating at the reception, where a woman proposes to her own lesbian partner.
The video may hope to emulate the success of the Australian marriage equality short It’s Time which recently passed 5 million views on Youtube.
